City Love - Vegas
Just arrived home after 2 days, 3 nights in Vegas. What a place. I know the saying suggests “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas” but I think it’s worthwhile to share a few highlights:
- It’s was my good friend Kristen Anne’s birthday, and she organized us to stay in the middle of the strip (at a hotel with FLAMINGOS) and got us on guest list to a nightclub that had a outdoor patio overlooking the strip. I definitely felt fancy and am so glad I was able to share it with a great group of friends.
- Freemont is my pick for the best part of Vegas, probably because the best description of the place would be glitter, flashing lights, and more glitter. The casinos are older and the light shows are psychedelic but somehow I felt right at home here. We explored a bit and ended up a bar (Beauty Bar) away from the glitter that featured a topless girl being air brushed painted and a selection of bands and DJ’s ranging from Dub Stub to metal. Out back there were a few Harley’s on display and a hot dog stand. I liked it there.
- I was hesitant at first to gamble and tried to save my money, but by the end I was addicted to black jack. Thx, Glenn for all the tips!
- Obviously we had to see a show so we chose the Price is Right hosted by Joey Fatone. Unfortunately no one from our group was picked to be a contestant but one lady in the audience went home with a new washer and dryer. Ha ha don’t know what I would have done if I won that prize.
- Themed hotels were cool to look at, it still blows my mind that this place exists and is SO busy. Well done Tourism Las Vegas.
